Types of REHABILITATION Programs
• Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP)
– Inmates live in close-knit, supportive communities
– Participate in individual and group counseling, commit to community job responsibilities and complete a variety of treatment activities
– Lasts from 20 weeks to 12 months.

• Substance Abuse Education
– Educational programs that help inmates connection between drug use and negative behavior
– Changes in thinking are linked to subsequent changes in decision-making and behavior

• Bridges To Life Program
– The goal of the program is to connect communities to prisons to reduce the recidivism rate, number of crime victims, and enhance public safety
– Bridges To Life Program coordinated 63 projects in 26 Texas prisons, plus juvenile and transitional housing facilities– Bridges To Life Program has also been used in 10 other states and in 3 foreign countries
– In 2012 there were 2,806 inmates/participants graduated from the program
